The January 2010 Technical Meeting was held at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs 13/15 Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos on Wednesday 27th January 2010. The topic was "Agbami 4C Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) 2.5D Acoustic/2D Elastic Finite Difference Wave Equation Modeling" and the Speaker was Doug Hicks from Chevron.

The Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists has over 5500 individual members and about 90 supporting corporate members. There are three regional chapters in addition to the Lagos Headquarters. These are Port Harcourt, Benin and Warri chapters.
