  • BP has spent nearly $100 million on advertising to buff up the company's image and share information about the oil spill in the months following the April 20 explosion of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig.
  • BP has agreed to the $20 billion oil spill fund as requested by President Obama. BP has agreed to contribute 20 billion dollars over a four-year period at a rate of five billion dollars per year, including five billion dollars within 2010.
  • Second-quarter profits at oil giant Royal Dutch Shell have almost doubled after the firm completed a year-long corporate restructuring programme. The firm reported profits of $4.5bn (Euro2.9bn) on a current cost of supplies basis, up from $2.3bn a year ago.
  • Conoil, Nigeria's leading indigenous petroleum exploration and production company, has discovered huge gas deposits in the central part of its Oil Mining Lease 136 (OML-136) in offshore western Delta of Nigeria. The company made the discovery in Agge-3B. T1 well while appraising an undrilled compartment of the Agge field complex.
  • The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico caused by the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion has so far cost BP a total of $6.1bn. The total includes the cost of the spill response, containment, relief well drilling, and cementing up of the damaged well.
  • Royal Dutch Shell pays $4.7 billion to buy privately held East Resources Inc, giving it more exposure to promising shale gas reserves in North America.
  • The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) has unveiled plans to invest about $2 billion (NGN290 billion) on a number of projects that would drastically reduce gas flaring in Nigeria.
  • About 25 billion cubic metres of natural gas will be transported per year in the proposed Trans-Saharan Gas - Pipeline project  which will be recovered from gas flaring in Nigeria.
  • China, the world's second-biggest consumer of oil, will lend Venezuela $20 billion and form a venture to pump crude from the Orinoco Belt, President Hugo Chavez said, vowing to meet the Asian country's energy needs.

Arrangements will be made or space requirements for these events. Space and time shall be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

PAYMENT

All cheques should be made payable to: "Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists" and must be delivered to the NAPE Secretariat at: 47A, Femi Okunnu Housing Estate, Lekki Peninsula, Lagos. Cancellations will attract a cancellation fee equal to 25% of total fee due.

 

EXHIBITION PACKAGE

The exhibition rate only covers the cost of renting (uncarpeted) floor space for the duration of the exhibition. Also included in the package:

  • hall lighting

  • air‐conditioning

  • company’s listing in the conference program book

  • exhibitor’s brochure

  • General security throughout the exhibition.

Exhibitors are advised to make arrangements for additional security as desired, (spot) lighting, customized wall panels, partitions and graphics, signs, power extension chords, computers, furniture and carpeting. (The AICC may supply some items on request, but usually, only a limited quantity is available, so please make your inquiries quickly. There may be additional charges for such items.)

 

INSTALLATION AND DISMANTLING OF BOOTHS

Individual companies are responsible for the construction, set up and dismantling of their booths at the venue, as well as providing furniture for their use. Installation of Exhibition Booths shall take place at the AICC. The Exhibition Hall will be declared open during the Opening Ceremony. Exhibitions closes at 1:00PM on lthe last day of conference and booths must be dismantled by 5:00PM.

Booths must be installed within the space allotted for each exhibitor. Exhibitors must be careful not to intrude into space allotted to other exhibitors. It is also not permitted for booth displays or graphics to encroach onto walkways or other designated public areas. Such infringement will be removed and the exhibitor may be charged N25,000 (Twenty Five Thousand Naira only) for removal services.

 

CANCELLATION OF EXHIBITION RESERVATIONS

Reservations may be cancelled by giving notice in writing to NAPE, and upon the payment of an administrative fee of N25,000 (Twenty Five Thousand Naira only). NAPE will make a refund of rental fees paid, less the administrative fee. For Cancellations made, (“Late Cancellations”), exhibit space rental fees paid to NAPE will be refunded only provided the cancelled exhibit space(s) is resold and all other exhibit spaces in the Exhibition are sold. If this occurs, a refund will be made, after a cancellation fee is deducted. This will be equal to 25% of the total cost of the exhibition space requested.

 

NO‐SHOWS AND LAST‐MINUTE CANCELLATIONS

Exhibitor no‐shows (non‐appearance at conference venue) and last minute cancellations (withdrawal from the exhibition with less than 3 weeks to the actual Conference and Exhibition event) are discouraged. Once NAPE has confirmed exhibition space at the request of a company, it is assumed that a commitment has been made, which is binding on both

parties. As such, a penalty will be imposed equal to at least 25% of the total cost of the

exhibition space requested, in the case of a no‐show or last‐minute cancellation. No‐shows and last‐minute cancellations may also be blacklisted from future NAPE Exhibitions, at the sole discretion of NAPE.

 

EXHIBITORS’ BROCHURE
All Exhibitors at the 2010 NAPE Conference will be profiled in a special brochure, which will be placed in the Conference bags. This will be at no additional cost to your company. Please forward a short profile of your company (Maximum of 2 pages of an A4‐sized document) with any goodwill messages from your CEO to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The preferred format is Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, or other compatible format. Crosscheck to see that your company logo is accessible in this format. Please note that your profile may be edited to fit the desired length. Also ensure that the contact details of your company are sent along with the profile: office street address, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, e‐mail and website addresses etc.

To expedite the process, it is advisable for you to send in your company profile immediately your booth reservation is confirmed. Deadline for receipt of the profile will be communicated to you.

Participants are encouraged to pre‐register through the NAPE Secretariat so as to enjoy the discounted rates. Bulk registration can be done by sending a list of attendees along with the appropriate payment to the NAPE Secretariat. Registration materials will be given out at the conference venue if you have not been pre‐registered.

Payment is by cash or cheque for residents, and by cash or telegraphic transfer for non‐residents. Cheques should be made out to "Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists".

All Exhibitors must be fully registered. Registration covers Name tags/Badges, access to the Exhibition Pavilion, lunch, conference bags, programs, brochures, etc. Please remember to register as access to the conference and exhibition venues are restricted to registered persons only. No free passes will be given to exhibitors.

 

OPENING HOURS

The Exhibition Pavilion will be officially opened during the Opening Ceremony and will run concurrently with the Technical Sessions. Exhibitions will be open to visitors from 8:00AM till 5:00PM daily. Admittance to the Exhibition will be by Registration Badge, Exhibitor Identification Badge, or VIP Guest Pass only. Children under the age of 16 will not be allowed into the exhibition hall during set‐up or teardown. During exhibition hours, children under the age of 13 will not be allowed into any activities within the hall, except under the strict supervision of an adult who is properly registered and wearing an identification badge.
