What is UAP about?

UAP is the acronym for University/Polytechnic Assistance Programme. The programme was established in 1987 under the umbrella of NAPE FOUNDATION, by the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), a non profit making Association. It was formarlly launched in November, 1999 in MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.  The programme is deeming to expressly support educational development of geoscience and environmental students, lecturers, higher Institutions and members of the Association.

What are NAPE-UAP Dreams?

To see a progressive improvement and attainment of global education standard in Nigeria Tertiary Institutions. Development and production of confident, dedicated and astute geoscientists, environmentalists among our membership and affiliated bodies in conformity with Tertiary Institutions Programmes.

Vision

 To make Nigerian tertiary education as competitive as others in the world before year 2010, by complimenting the government and University efforts. To establish effective network with international geo-scientific institutions, organization and regional leadership in other affiliated societies.

What are the objectives of UAP?

To complement the effort of the Universities, States and Federal Government to maintain established educational standard. " To contribute substantially to the continuous improvement of educational among Higher Institutions and Oil/Mining Industries.

Who will benefit from this?

Hard working geoscience students, related earth science/environmental students of NAPE. Proactive Universities, Polytechnics with clear geoscience programme.  Corporate and Affiliated members of NAPE.  Benevolent individual and corporate institutions.

All the institutions in each zone have been given special attention to know their needs, after the nationwide survey of geoscience departments. These need have been prioritized and given necessary assistance to make sure that they are met. The zones are;
