NAPE August Technical/Business Meeting 2026 successfully held

The Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) successfully held its August Technical/Business Meeting on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, at the Grand Ballroom, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, with virtual participation.

The meeting, themed “Beyond Site Survey Design: Optimising Infield Activities, Intelligent Data Processing Workflows, and Enhanced Presentation of Results,” brought together NAPE members, industry professionals, stakeholders, geoscientists, and students.

The meeting recorded a total participation of 196 attendees, reflecting strong engagement across the various categories of the NAPE community and the broader energy industry.

The technical presentation was delivered by Christopher John Alger, Technical Director, Peak Processing UK. His presentation extensively examined the broader lifecycle of modern site survey execution, with emphasis on optimising infield activities, data acquisition and processing workflows, intelligent digital technologies, and improved presentation of technical results.

The technical session further explored the integration of geophysical, geotechnical, hydrographic, environmental, and geospatial datasets into unified digital models and visualisation platforms. These approaches support more effective interpretation, engineering decisions, field development planning, drilling, subsea infrastructure installation, and asset integrity management.

The presentation was followed by a panel review and thoughtful session with Mr. Dozie Irrechukwu, Managing Director/CEO, Seis-space Geosciences Limited, and Mr. James Ukachukwu, Executive Director, Seis-space Geosciences Limited. It provided further industry perspectives and practical reflections on the application of modern site survey technologies and data workflows.

The meeting also featured a question-and-answer session, allowing participants to engage directly with the speaker and panelists on issues arising from the technical presentation.

The event sponsor, Seis-space Geosciences, was also recognised during the meeting for its support towards the successful delivery of the technical programme.

A special highlight of the August meeting was the recognition and celebration of Dr. Sir Felix Anorouh Njoku, FNAPE, as part of NAPE's tradition of celebrating Fellows who have attained 80 years and above. The recognition reflects the Association's appreciation of the contributions, professional service, and legacy of Dr. Njoku, FNAPE within the geoscience and petroleum industry.

The meeting also featured the presentation of gifts to the Chairman, Speaker, and Panelists, followed by announcements and other Association activities before the closing session.

NAPE appreciates all members, speakers, panelists, sponsors, participants and students who contributed to the success of the August Technical/Business Meeting.
