The Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) successfully concluded its September Technical/Business Meeting held on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, at Lantana Hall, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, with virtual participation.
The meeting themed “From Seismic to Value: Leveraging Seismic Inversion & Forward Seismic Modeling in Geomodeling to Enable Field Development,” brought together NAPE members, industry professionals, stakeholders, geosciencetists, and students..
The meeting recorded a total participation of 213 attendees, comprising 110 physical attendees and 103 online participants, reflecting broad engagement from NAPE members, fellows, associates, corporate participants, students, and non-members.
The technical session featured presentations by Michael A. McGlashan, Geophysicist, ExxonMobil, as Speaker, and was chaired by Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Obi, Senior Production Geoscientist, Seplat Energy.
Michael A. McGlashan, presented an overview of the integration of seismic inversion, geomodelling, and forward seismic modelling to evaluate subsurface scenarios, reduce reservoir uncertainty, and support field development planning. Discussions also highlighted the integration of geophysics, geology, and reservoir engineering in developing decision-focused workflows for improved subsurface understanding and development decisions.
The presentations were followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, providing participants with an opportunity to seek further clarification and engage the speakers on the technical and operational issues discussed.
NAPE appreciates the speakers, Chairman, sponsor, members, and all participants for contributing to the success of the Second September Technical/Business Meeting Edition and for their continued commitment to technical excellence and professional development.
The Association remains committed to providing platforms for continuous technical learning, professional engagement, knowledge exchange, and advancement within the geoscience and energy industry.
