NAPE Summer School 2026: Day One Successfully Concludes

The Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) successfully commenced the NAPE Summer School 2026 today at Peninsula Hotel and Suites, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, with an impressive turnout of participants from across the geoscience, energy, and related professional communities.

The opening session featured remarks from the NAPE President, Mrs. Olajumoke Cecilia Ajayi, FNAPE, and the President-Elect, Dr. Anthony Ofoma, FNAPE, FNMGS. Their opening addresses highlighted the importance of continuous professional development, digital transformation, and the need to equip energy professionals with the knowledge and capabilities required to navigate the changing technical landscape of the industry.

The training programme for Day One was led by Moradeyo Adesanwo, Digital Product Director, Baker Hughes, USA. The session provided participants with practical perspectives on the application of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and machine learning across energy industry workflows.

The day's training covered key areas including:

The training session examined the growing role of digital ecosystems, sustainable AI adoption, and the integration of AI and machine learning into production operations, drilling workflows, reservoir management, and field management. Participants were also introduced to practical industry applications through customer pain points, solutions, and case studies.

The training, which ran from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, was highly interactive, with participants actively engaging throughout the sessions. The programme concluded with a course review, participant takeaways, and an extensive question-and-answer session with the instructor, providing an opportunity for participants to seek further clarification and connect the technical discussions with practical industry applications.

Day One set a strong foundation for the NAPE Summer School 2026, combining technical learning, industry perspectives, practical applications, and active participant engagement.
